Place Carnot is famous for hosting the annual Christmas market. It is a real place to live with its many shaded terraces that are very pleasant in summer, its temporary entertainment and its farmers' markets on Wednesday afternoons. Beautiful bourgeois buildings with ornate facades line Place Carnot.
Good addresses :
I advise you to visit Maison Métagram at n°8 rue Fleurieu or 37 Rue des Remparts d'Ainay at Galerie Slika, a unique coffee art gallery or at n°30 chez Little for homemade cupcakes and lemonade. At 39 rue Charité, you can fill your basket with the delicious cheeses from Chez Mons! Certainly, the walk should not last too long for the smell....
Want to snack on a piece? At 49 rue Charité, we eat the fried chickens from Mike Restaurant, a street food canteen that makes delicious "homemade nuggets". For an air of Dolce Vita, it will be necessary to stop at n°42 at Himalia and its succulent foccacias. Not to mention the delicious carrot cake of Café Marmot next door.
Finally, in my good addresses in the shopping district, I recommend the Mathuvû concept store at 43 rue Charité: pretty crockery, cute stationery, jewellery and trendy decorative objects. And of course if your wallet allows it or just for the pleasure of the eyes, you can stroll through the antique shops that have made the reputation of Auguste Comte Street, such as Marilyn's very strange shop.
