There is a restaurant and bar where you can eat without taking the car. The nearest supermarket is 5km away (Saint-Mathieu), or just over the border in Piégut-Pluviers, a large, pleasant village in the Dordogne, famous for its Saturday morning market. The surrounding area offers wonderful walks through forests and valleys, just a few kilometres from Brantôme and Nontron. The large lake at Saint-Estèphe is 13km away.
