From the Place Vendôme to the Île de la Cité, Paris’s 1st arrondissement is the district of the kings of France. The Palais Royal, the Tuileries, the Louvre and the Palais de la Cité: it was here that the royal power and its court were established for centuries, making the neighbourhood one of the most sumptuous in the capital. There is a wide choice of tours and walks in this neighbourhood, situated in the heart of the city.
Although it is no longer the ‘belly of Paris’ as it once was, you will also find the Les Halles district in the 1st arrondissement.
