Around

The Pomme district grew up around an old village core, along the "petite route d'Aubagne" (D2 of the Bouches-du-Rhône department), 2 kilometres from the old perimeter of Marseille. Today, this original nucleus still exists, but urbanisation has replaced the old rural or agricultural properties with villa developments or housing estates: Air-Bel, Parc Bel-Ombre, la Grognarde, etc. Most of the buildings in the "Caillols urban centre" are located in the 11th arrondissement, in the Pomme district, rather than in the Caillols district (12th arrondissement).
