Located just 12 kilometres from Paris in the Hauts-de-Seine department, Marnes-la-Coquette is a modern town with a strong economic appeal and a rich historical heritage. A small community of 1,700 inhabitants, Marnes-la-Coquette has grown up between the wooded hills of the Parc de Saint-Cloud, the Fausses-Reposes national forest and the Haras de Jardy park. Marnes-la-Coquette has attracted a host of celebrities over the years, including Johnny Hallyday, Jacques Séguéla and Hugues Aufray. The town's name derives from a decree by Napoleon III, who added "La Coquette" to Marnes as a tribute to the surrounding forests. It retains all the charm of the villages of yesteryear. Its main thoroughfare is truly bucolic.
